Key Responsibilities

1. Legal Support & Compliance

  • Assist in providing basic legal research and drafting opinions on company operations.
  • Support compliance efforts with relevant laws, regulations, and data protection requirements (NDPR, GDPR, where applicable).
  • Keep track of changes in legislation relevant to the company’s activities.
  • Any other task as disseminated by the Head, Legal & Regulatory Affairs.


 2. Contract Administration

  • Review legal internal matters requiring legal input /perspective, consult with all relevant parties, advise on legal related matter, provide recommendations on course of action, and effectively take appropriate and approved action in accordance with the rules and regulations of Seamfix.
  • Draft legal agreements and review all relevant documentation supporting contracts for authenticity and validity, reviewing commercial agreements and documentations of transactions (NDAs, vendor agreements, internship/employment contracts, Reseller Agreements, etc)
  • Develop proactive strategies for preventing disputes by ensuring contracts are well-drafted, aligned with compliance standards, and operationally efficient.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on commercial transactions and contractual obligations to internal stakeholders.
  • Administer controls and policies to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and effectively integrate ethics, compliance and preventive law efforts, ensuring Seamfix activities are compliant with laid down laws and governing regulations/statutes ( e.g Data Protection Laws of Nigeria and other countries).
  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Update automated systems for data/legal process maturity for all areas of commercial legal practice (Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Contracts, litigation, etc).
  • Drafting letters to third parties on behalf of the Seamfix
  • Manage the Company’s property portfolio
  • Negotiate and draft transaction agreements (i.e. M&As, JVs, to support the business on company or group projects.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance contract execution and foster trust.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure contracts address risk mitigation and business goals effectively.
  • Conduct internal stakeholders, quarterly roadshows on legal process for all Seamfix Divisions.
  • Conduct internal and external stakeholder surveys and track stakeholders’ satisfaction


3. Regulatory Engagement, Industry Thought Leadership & Advocacy

  • Assist in the engagement of relevant industry Regulatory Authorities, NCC, NIMC, Global regulators, policy makers as the need arises.
  • Assist in analysing and interpreting regulatory developments affecting Seamfix’s business operations.
  • Assist in driving regulatory approval processes for Seamfix’s products and services in various markets.
  • Assist in engaging with Analyst communities, industry bodies like GSMA, TMForum, etc, to foster Seamfix’s business objectives, 
  • Research and updates Seamfix on developments; bills, new policies within the legislative/ regulatory arena; and follow up with regulatory authorities on submissions and other regulatory issues.
  • Research and provides cost-saving opportunities arising from regulatory developments.
  • Advising the relevant internal departments/units on matters affecting regulatory function.
  • Attending meetings to assist in negotiating and communicating the company’s business legal policies to customers.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and keep a tab on acquiring the necessary licences and permits of major regulatory bodies.
  • Provide thought leadership by contributing to whitepapers, industry forums, and legislative discussions on regulatory technology trends.


4. Corporate Governance

  • Support in preparing board and management meeting packs, resolutions, and statutory filings.
  • Assist with maintaining company records in line with CAC requirements.
  • Works closely with the external solicitor on all Corporate matters


5. Litigation & Dispute Resolution Support

  • Liaise with external counsel by preparing and collating documents.
  • Assist in keeping track of case files, hearing dates, and reports.


6. Intellectual Property & Data Privacy

  • Assist in monitoring company trademarks, copyrights, and other IP matters.
  • Support the implementation of data protection policies and handle basic data privacy documentation.


7. Administrative Support

  • Maintain proper filing of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Legal & Compliance team.


DATA CONTROLLER/PROCESSOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Compliance team in ensuring all Data controller and/or processor responsibilities are actualised. 


Qualifications & Skills

  • LL.B and B.L (minimum). NYSC completion required.
  • 2- 5 years post-call legal experience; prior experience in a Telecom, technology and corporate/commercial law environment is an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of technology, corporate, commercial, contract, and IP law.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Strong research, writing, and documentation skills.
  • Civil/commercial litigation experience.
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • In-depth experience and understanding of the Nigerian framework.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and meet deadlines.
