Job Responsibilities

Treasury Management

  • Management of the company’s Treasury and investments - with a view to safely
  • maximize returns
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
  • Manage income, cashflow and expenditure.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction measures.

Financial Records Management

  • Manage the company month end closure process
  • Review transactions posted by the accountants before releasing into the books.
  • Review requests and compare with the budget before approval.
  • Review payments on the company’s payment platform before approval by Director.
  • Manage the company’s accounting software - Acumatica

Payroll Management

  • Review payroll information for all staff to ensure alignment with offer letters.
  • Process payroll for all staff before the deadline.
  • Process advances to staff for business trips and timely retirement of the advances.

Statutory Audit & Taxation

  • Provide all the necessary financial documents and support required by the statutory
  • auditors during statutory audits.
  • Responsible for ensuring statutory audits are scheduled and conducted promptly before applicable statutory deadlines.
  • Liaison with statutory auditors and tax consultants on any matters arising.
  • Responsible for ensuring approved recommendations by the statutory auditors are properly implemented.
  • Manage LIRS and FIRS audits for the company and its related parties

Fixed Asset & Accessories Management

  • Record non-current asset acquisitions, depreciation, transfer and dispositions in the accounting system
  • Monitor the expenditures of the company for non-current assets in comparison to capital budget and management authorizations.
  • Represent the company during any audit by a regulatory body that involves fixed assets.
  • Assign tag numbers to fixed assets and track them on the Asset Register
  • Conduct periodic physical count and impairment reviews for non-current assets and make recommendations to management whether any should be disposed of
  • Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

Risk and Compliance

  • Responsible for oversight of the processes, procedures including but not limited to compliance with policies and procedures, payment terms, exception management etc.
  • Ensure that the company is not exposed to regulatory and statutory issues.
  • Ensure regular filings and remittances of tax and statutory remittances
  • Ensure all compliance related documents are obtained before deadlines.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure prompt remittance and collection of tax credit notes.
  • Research and advise on recommended tax avoidance strategies to be implemented.

Other Responsibilities

  • Respond to compliance requests by the Compliance Department.
  • Manage the company’s petty cash.
  • Periodic audit of operational costs in a bid to optimize costs
  • Oversee the accountants in the Finance departments.
  • Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by your line manager.

Requirement

  • Minimum of 3 but not more than 5 years’ experience
  • BSC in Accounting with a minimum of 2.1 GPA
  • ICAN or ACCA Certified Accountant.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace tools.
  • Sound knowledge of International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS) and its
  • application.
  • Solid understanding of risk and control concepts
