We are seeking a Senior Pattern Engineer specializing in outerwear to lead structural development, fit engineering, and production readiness for pants, Tshirt, shirt across multiple constructions (tailored, casual, technical, padded).


This role requires advanced knowledge of pattern engineering, garment construction, grading, and 3D development. The ideal candidate understands the complexity of structured garments while bringing strong technical control in bottoms fit, mobility, and performance.


Experience in digital pattern development (e.g., CLO 3D) is highly valued as a tool to enhance development efficiency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Technical Development & Construction:

  • Lead technical development for outerwear categories (jackets, coats, structured layers) with strong capability in pants construction (tailored, casual, cargo, active, performance).
  • Translate design concepts into production-ready technical packages.
  • Engineer construction details for durability, mobility, and wash performance.
  • Evaluate seam types, reinforcement points, closures, pocket construction, and functional components.


Pattern & Fit Engineering:

  • Review, correct, and approve patterns for outerwear and pants.
  • Provide clear construction and pattern feedback to factories.
  • Own size specs, grading logic, and base block development.
  • Troubleshoot complex fit issues including:
  • Rise balance and seat shape (pants)
  • Waistband stability & roll control
  • Leg shape and movement
  • Sleeve pitch and mobility (outerwear)
  • Layering allowance and ease control


3D Development (CLO 3D or equivalent):

  • Build and review 3D garments for fit validation before sampling.
  • Simulate fabric behavior and evaluate tension maps.
  • Reduce sampling rounds through virtual fit correction.
  • Partner with pattern makers to integrate 3D adjustments into 2D patterns.


Sample Review & Quality Control:

  • Lead fit sessions and provide structured technical feedback.
  • Identify construction risks early in development.
  • Ensure consistency from proto to TOP sample.
  • Monitor workmanship standards and tolerance control.


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Design, Sourcing, and Production teams.
  • Communicate technical standards clearly to vendors.
  • Mentor junior technical designers or pattern developers when needed.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Design, or related field from a recognized university, preferably with a focus on garment technology.
  • 7+ years of experience in Technical Design or Pattern Making.
  • Strong experience in outerwear construction.
  • Advanced expertise in pants development and fit engineering.
  • Proficient in pattern review, grading, and spec creation.
  • Hands-on experience with CLO 3D (or equivalent 3D software).
  • Strong knowledge of woven fabrics, performance materials, and structured garments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong understanding of US and EU garment standards, including regulations and quality compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate pattern corrections to both design teams and vendors.
  • Ability to manage tight calendars and multiple styles in fast-paced development cycles.
  • Innovative mindset and willingness to explore 3D patternmaking or digital fitting.
  • Intermediate English communication skills (written and verbal), with proven experience communicating in the apparel industry, including fit comments, technical feedback, and vendor correspondence.
