We are focused on creating a sophisticated Global eCommerce Mobile Application that changes the shopping experience for millions of customers throughout the United States.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of our native Android app using Kotlin
  • Own key architecture decisions and guide long-term codebase scalability and modularization.
  • Build end-to-end user experiences across product discovery, checkout, account, and post-order flows.
  • Integrate backend services, SDKs, and third-party tools for payments, analytics, and more.
  • Drive mobile performance, responsiveness, and reliability with solid testing and monitoring practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and other mobile teams to ensure alignment and code consistency.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate testing, release, and monitoring processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers, review code, and establish team-wide coding best practices.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing across the mobile org.


Requirements & Skills


  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in native Android development, with deep expertise in Kotlin.
  • Solid understanding of Android app architecture, Activity/Fragment lifecycle, and Jetpack libraries.
  • Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, or strong experience with traditional UI (XML + ViewBinding).
  • Familiarity with scalable architectural patterns: MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, etc.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous flows with Coroutines / Flow, and robust error handling.
  • Skilled in working with local storage (Room, SQLite) and caching strategies.
  • Strong debugging and profiling skills using Android Studio tools, LeakCanary, or similar.
  • Comfortable with Git-based workflows, modular codebases, and CI/CD pipelines (Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise).
  • Experience with performance optimization, crash tracking, and app release processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Able to thrive in an Agile, fast-paced, startup environment with evolving requirements.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and lead team members effectively.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience managing tasks within this framework.


Preferred (but not required)

  • Has knowledge of design, and coding principles (e.g.: clean code, DRY/KISS, SOLID)
  • DevOps, SysOps in AWS, and CI/CD experience
  • Experience building or scaling eCommerce or transactional apps.
  • Exposure to analytics, user behavior tracking, or data-driven product iteration.
  • Background in startup or high-growth tech product environments.
  • Passion for clean UI, smooth UX, and performance.
